My Story

“I want to perform here someday” were the first words I uttered about becoming a musician in my earliest memory at the Petachi Auditorium, Chennai when I accompanied my uncle & flautist Sri.A.N.Srinivasan to one of his concerts several years ago. I don’t remember how did I start playing the flute. My aunt, guru & flautist, Kalaimamani Smt. A.N. Bhaghyalakshmi tells me I was naturally inclined towards flute and that`s how I started learning the instrument from her.

From being a naïve student, I faced my first stage in the year 2009 at the Ramani`s Academy of Flute. Then on, my journey as a performer gradually continued while I was also pursuing my masters and joined work as an HR professional. In 2014, I performed my Flute Arangetram in Krishnagana Sabha under the blessings of my grand guru late. Dr. N. Ramani from whom also I had the opportunity to learn for a short stint.
Later in 2016, I moved to Japan and became a full-time performer and teacher and started my own youtube music channel `flusindley` that has over 2500 subscriptions

In 2019, alongside being a full-time musician in Japan, I started a music platform `baghyalaya` to honor my guru Kalaimamani Smt. A.N. Bhaghyalakshmi and showcase the talent of her students. In 2023, we celebrated the 5th year Annual Talent celebration of baghyalaya

Some of my noteworthy performances are as below:

  • In India: The TTD Chennai, Isckon Nellore and Naidupet, Madras Music Academy, Krishnagana Sabha, Ragasudha Hall.
  • In Japan: NHK Radio, Tokyo Margazhi Vizha, Euresia Traditional Music Festival, Machikado club Music Festival, Senzoku Gakuen Music College, Uchisaiwaicho India Music Festival and many more private and public events.
I am also training in Carnatic vocals from my teacher Smt. Radha Venkataraman who is a disciple of late, Sri. Lalgudi Jayaraman
I am now a full-time performing artist giving solo performances, collaborating with dancers and fusion bands to explore different aspects of music. I am also teaching music both in India and Japan and I thrive and aspire to take my artform to this world.
